The City of Cebu is the capital city of Cebu and the second city in the Philippines, the second most significant metropolitan centre in the Philippines and known as the oldest city established by the Spaniards in the country.

The city is located on the eastern shore of Cebu and was the first Spanish settlement in the Philippines. Cebu is the Philippines' main domestic shipping port and is home to about 80% of the country's domestic shipping companies. Cebu also holds the second largest international flights in the Philippines and is a significant centre of commerce, trade and industry in the Visayas and Mindanao region. According to the 2007 Philippine census, the city has a population of about 798,809 people.

Cebu City is the centre of a metropolitan area called Metro Cebu, which includes the cities of Mandaue, Lapu-Lapu and Talisay. Metro Cebu has a total population of about 2 million people. The Mactan-Cebu International Airport, located in Lapu-Lapu City is only a twenty-minute drive away from Cebu City. To the northeast of the city are Mandaue City and the town of Consolacion, to the west are Toledo City, the towns of Balamban and Asturias, to the south are Talisay City and the town of Minglanilla. Across Mactan Strait to the east is Mactan Island where Lapu-Lapu City and an aquarium attraction are located.

PLDT myDSL Overdrive - 2010

Last year,I blogged one of the new innovations of PLDT- the PLDT myDSL Watchpad where we get to enjoy watching movies and TV shows while surfing the net.This year, PLDT's another creative innovation was launched last March 24, 2010 in FORMO, Banilad Town Center - the PLDT  myDSL Overdrive 2010. It was fun watching those fire dancers and cheerleaders that made the night like blazing with more excitement. I enjoyed the music and food too. It kicked off with the arrival of their newly decked Speedster bus where you can experience the true enjoyment of having myDSL watchpad. Inside the bus, we got to hang out with PLDT crew, and the reality star search, Starstruck finalists- Diva and Roco while surfing the net,chilling out and enjoying the ride.





Speedster bus roamed the streets of Talisay,Mabolo,Mandaue and Mactan that serve as activation hub where you can install or apply for a PLDT landline and myDSL connection. PLDT lets you get  more out of the internet with the new triple play service;unlimited broadband, landline and Watchpad. They also hit the computer shops in SM City Cebu for raid upgrade! last March 27 in PC Live, Accent Micro,PC Express,Silicon Valley,Ngenius and Thinking Tools to get connected in as fast as 24 hours by just bringing a valid ID and upon credit approval,one dont need to worry and there's no cash out for it.






The fun doesn't stop there because last Sunday,March 28 marks the date of the groundbreaking partnership with local cable channel RCTV in a free event dubbed LIVE AND LOUD at the Parkmall grounds @ 1:00 p.m. and streamed live exclusively via Watchpad (http://pldtWatchpad.com) for all the watchpad subscribers around the country.
